West Mesa Educational Consulting, LLC
How we started...
Shortly after arriving in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2019, West Mesa Educational Consulting, LLC was born! After a professional career that spanned over 40 years, I chose to create an LLC that specializes in providing technical assistance in curriculum, instruction, assessment, and program evaluation, with a focus on program efficacy for underserved populations.
During my educational career, I served as a teacher, principal, director, and assistant superintendent in local education agencies in South Dakota and New Mexico. Additionally, I taught at a Teacher’s College in Sierra Leone, West Africa while serving in the Peace Corps, I served as a Data-Evaluation Team Lead at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC, and I currently serve as vice-president of the governing council of a bilingual charter school here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In all of these roles, I have focused my efforts on how to improve the educational outcomes of underserved populations.
I received a B.A. in Elementary Education and M.Ed. in Education Administration from Rhode Island College in Providence, Rhode Island. I obtained my Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction, with a minor in Educational Leadership, from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
